Artist's Statement

I started painting in the 1980's while living in Connecticut where I had the opportunity of taking workshops with several well known artists from all over the U.S. who are drawn there by the scenic beauty of the New England coast.

I belonged to several regional art associations in Connecticut with whom I exhibited and won several awards.

My favorite subjects for painting are landscapes, seascapes, old buildings and flowers. The watercolor medium continues to inspire me. My paintings are a response to what I observe in nature. I particularly enjoy capturing the simple beauty of flowers, raw natural beauty of Colorado and the South West as well as old western ranch houses, barns and mining towns.

I am currently a member of the Evergreen Artist Association, and the Shadow Mountain Gallery Co-Op. (I also participate in a number of local, short duration art shows.) I exhibit in the Shadow Mountain Gallery in Evergreen, CO, the Grand Lake Gallery in Grand Lake, CO and the Mountain Resource Center in Conifer, CO.
